New words were made legit by Oxford Dictionaries


The English language is always evolving, whether we like it or not. The folks over at Oxford Dictionary decided these words were here to stay.

Defenition: Make or repair (an object) in an improvised or inventive way, making use of whatever items are at hand

Sentence: “He MacGyvered a makeshift jack with a loghe has a shock of short red hair and a pair of rectangular-framed glasses MacGyvered with duct tape.”

Bitch face
Defenition: (Typically with reference to a woman) a scowling facial expression, especially as the natural cast of a person’s features

Sentence: “I have a bitch face too! That’s why people talk to my friends first instead of me!”



Defenition: The practice whereby a man, especially one travelling on public transport, adopts a sitting position with his legs wide apart, in such a way as to encroach on an adjacent seat or seats:
a campaign to discourage manspreading or using an adjacent seat as a footrest

Sentence: “We started a campaign to discourage manspreading or using an adjacent seat as a footrest.”

Definition: A person one does not know, especially one regarded as odd, suspicious, or engaging insocially inappropriate behaviour

Sentence: “Some rando asked to take her photo.”

Defenition: (Especially of a man) extremely muscular

Sentence: “If you’re swole you’ll look good in anything.”

Defenition: Extremely good; excellent

Sentence: “The ladies’ awesomesauce weekend in Vegas ended prematurely.”

Definition: A male friend (often used as a form of address)

Sentence: “Get off the Internet and get a life bruh.”



Brain fart



Fur baby
Defenition: A temporary mental lapse or failure to reason correctly

Sentence: “I’m having a brain fart and can’t spell his name correctly.”

Definition: Non-standard spelling of OK1, representing an informal pronunciation (typically used at the end of a statement to invite agreement, approval, or confirmation)

Sentence: “Just leave us some flowers by the door and we’ll pick them up later, mkay?”

Definition: or unjustifiably offended or overly resentful

Sentence: “They’re all butthurt that she released the album online first.”

Weak sauce
Definition: Something that is of a poor or disappointing standard or quality.

Sentence: “The rest of your argument is weak sauce”

Mic drop
Definition: An instance of deliberately dropping or tossing aside one’s microphone at the end of a performance or speech one considers to have been particularly impressive

Sentence: “He ruffled some feathers with his acceptance speech and mic drop after winning the Best British Album award.”
